The Women’s Diversity Network’s Summits are a unified and inclusive learning environment that exposes people to various cultures through cuisine, entertainment, and connection while fostering a space for people to gain new skills.  We created this event in order to give women and their allies in our surrounding and widespread communities the opportunity to experience the united, diverse sisterhood that Network leaders have found. An equally important purpose is to give women the opportunity to use the knowledge gleaned from the summit to empower them to become positive influences in their own and their allies’ lives.

WDN works with partners to host this annual event. Partners ​consist of ​community​ members, ​​established non-profit​ ​organizations, social groups, service-based groups, ​​as​ ​well​ ​as​ ​leaders​ ​of​ ​newer​ awareness-raising​ ​groups. Together we create an engaging, welcoming event where the diversity of thought, culture, ethnicity, and gender are used to unite rather than divide. These summits result in people meeting others whom they wouldn’t ordinarily have the opportunity to encounter. Sharing the summit experience leads to new, strong alliances among women and their supporters, where diversity is respected, celebrated, and empowering.

The summits are further enhanced through exposure to diverse entertainment.  Through dance, music, poetry, and storytelling telling, the vast and enriching artistic expressions of different cultures are on glorious display.

The Diversity summit provides delicious cultural food, reflecting the amazing tastes and aromas from around the world. Just as the presentations feed the mind, these scrumptious offerings feed the soul and expose people to cuisine they may have never had the opportunity to experience!

There are workshops, panel discussions, and seminars where issues such as gender identity, racism, and women’s health are discussed. Every presentation ends with each attendee being given an actionable strategy with which they can continue their engagement with the specific topic.

·    Cultural food from local restaurants (pick up is the weekend before, during, and the weekend after the event)

Due to the pandemic, again this year we will be holding this event virtually and for 6 days M-Th 7 pm - 9:30 pm with the final day Sat running from 10 am - 12:30 pm.
